Prof. Sudipta Seal

Prof. Sudipta Seal is Professor and Chair of the Materials Science and Engineering department of CECS at UCF. He is a Trustee Chair, Pegasus professor and University distinguished professor. He has been consistently productive in research, instruction and service to UCF since 1998. Prof. Seal has authored over 350+ peer-reviewed journal articles, ~500 invited lectures, 80+ conference paper, 13 book chapters, and 70+ patents applications. He is the recipient of the 2002 office of Naval Research Young Investigator and he created the first UCF student chapter of the Electrochemical Society. He is also been selected for ASM IIM award, JSPS fellow (Japan), Alexander Von Humboldt Research fellow (Germany). He received the Dean’s Award for Faculty excellence and received both the 2011 UWM CECS materials engineer distinguished alumnus awards, and UWM GOLD award (alumni of the past decade), Central Florida Engineers week Award. He is a fellow of American Society of Materials (FASM), American Association of Advancement of Science (AAAS), American Vacuum Society (FAVS), Materials Research Society, Institute of Nanotechnology (FIoN), National Academy of Inventors (FNAI), American Institute of medical and biological Engineers (FAIMBE), and many research awards. He has organized and/or chaired > 20 focused sessions, at national and international conferences and he is frequently invited to give plenary and keynote lectures in Nanotechnology, Sustainability and Biomedical nanotechnology at international and national conferences.
